FC 24: Females remain in FC 24 Ultimate Team, awesome.

EA says it's thinking hard about adding female players to the first post-FOOTBALL Ultimate Team lineup

EA's first post-FUT football game, FC 24, isn't out until September 23, but the team behind it is already putting out fires lit by gigantic adult babies.

That's because in the game's infamous and controversial Ultimate Team mode, women and men will play side by side for the first time ever. And because women like Australia's Sam Kerr - Australia's all-time leading international goal scorer, the all-time leading goal scorer in the National Women's Soccer League, and the only woman to ever win the Golden Boot in three different leagues on three different continents - are ranked the same as France's Kylian Mbappé (they both have an Ultimate Team rank of 91, based on metrics like dribbling, speed, and physicality), gamers are upset.

Naturally, Reddit is full of the reactions you'd expect from a notoriously open-minded group of people-players claiming they'll remove women from their team because it's unrealistic, others saying women "dilute" the weight of packs, and so on.

But EA isn't budging. Just last week, they released details about the upcoming FC 24.

"John Shepherd, vice president and executive producer at EA, told IGN: "It's something we really thought about. "We feel like we have a really important role to play in the growth of this sport, in terms of the introduction of this sport to all of our fans. We just have that belief that we want to unite the world around soccer. " IGN then asked Shepherd for a message to give to FUT fans who might be upset about this decision, and he pointed them to the Kick Off mode, which only allows you to play with FC 24's versions of the real-life teams and their respective rosters.
