FUT 23: Messi, Lewy, Mbappé - who will be number 1?

The first ratings for FUT 23 seem to have been published, but of course some are still pending. Who will be at the top in FUT, career mode & Co.?
Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo? This question has been asked in recent years when people have been guessing about the strongest player in the new FUT title.
The Portuguese is currently giving his club Manchester United more frustration than pleasure, but last season he was by far the most prolific attacker in the "Red Devils" with 24 competitive goals. In FUT 22, Ronaldo wasn't even in second place after his devaluation to 91 points, the most recent performances don't really speak for another downgrade - but also not for an upgrade. Our prediction: 91 ratings.
After jumping to second place, will the final step to the top follow? With 92 points, Lewandowski reached his personal record in FUT 22. He earned this with 41 Bundesliga goals in the 2020/21 season. Last season there were still an outstanding 35 goals in the German Oberhaus and a further 13 in the Champions League. A downgrade can actually hardly be argued based on these numbers. Our prediction: 92 ratings.
The fact that EA SPORTS is a big fan of the Frenchman is obvious after being named cover star for the third time in a row. In FUT 22, Mbappé scratched the established players with 91 points – in FUT 23 he could still improve. The 23-year-old recorded a whopping 65 points (39 goals and 26 assists) in just 46 competitive games in the 2021/22 season. He is considered the Ballon d'Or subscriber of the future, but is already absolutely world class in the present. Our prediction: 92 points.
From future Ballon d'Or winner to presumed top favorite for 2022, Benzema has enjoyed the strongest season of his already impressive career. He was Champions League winner and Spanish champion with Real Madrid and was top scorer in both competitions. However, the 34-year-old will fail because of the handicap from FUT 22, and he cannot quite catch up from 89 points. EA SPORTS has already leaked its new rating, which should be 91 ratings.
13 goals and six assists in 22 Ligue 1 games still read quite well, but Neymar remained goalless in the premier class. The Brazilian has had a mediocre season for his standards, an upgrade of his 91 points is not to be expected - rather a devaluation to 90. Kevin De Bruyne was in better form at Manchester City, for an increase of 91 points from FUT 22 were but possibly his Champions League performances not good enough.
A small downgrade for Lionel Messi, a small upgrade for Kylian Mbappé and stagnation for Robert Lewandowski - we predict a trio of 92 at the top of the FUT 23 rating. Karim Benzema would certainly have deserved this place, a three-point plus wants EA SPORTS but do not grant the callous French. For Kevin De Bruyne, a possible upgrade to 92 depends on how strong the developer assesses the past season. We don't believe in it.
